The Open Doors project has been shortlisted for ‘Best Diversity Scheme’ at the inaugural 24Housing Diversity in Housing Awards.
Open Doors is a two year Big Lottery funded project managed in partnership by Tai Pawb and the Residential Landlords Association (RLA). It engages and empowers landlords and tenants to reduce issues of inequality and discrimination in the private rented sector.
Starting in August 2017, it works across Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and Merthyr Tydfil, and has already made an impact giving support and advice to tenants and landlords.
Project Manager Sarah Vining said:
We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in the first year of our project, and I think it goes to show how much this service was needed. We must thank our Tenant and Landlord Champions for coming on board and giving their time and enthusiasm to ensure the project can reach as many people as possible.
It’s a great sign to be included in a UK wide award, and that our work is also being recognised outside of Wales!
The 24Housing Diversity in Housing Conference and Award Ceremony will take place on May 10th at Aston Villa Football Club, Birmingham.
