This course supports staff to build a clear and practical understanding of equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging in both service delivery and employment contexts.
Participants will explore the Equality Act 2010, including protected characteristics and legal responsibilities, and examine how discrimination and inequality can arise in day‑to‑day organisational practice. The course focuses on recognising common barriers to equality and understanding how individual roles and behaviours can either reinforce or challenge them.
The session is highly interactive and encourages reflection on real workplace scenarios. While originally developed for the housing sector, the training can be tailored for other third sector organisations.
It is appropriate for new starters as an introduction to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging, and for existing staff as a refresher on legal responsibilities and inclusive practice. The course supports staff to understand their responsibilities under relevant equality legislation and to apply inclusive principles in their day‑to‑day work, including employment and service delivery contexts.
Sessions can be tailored to organisational context and delivered as a standalone workshop.
