What is trans inclusion and why do we need it? Why does it matter to me? Where do I start? If these are questions you have about trans and non‑binary inclusion, this session provides a supportive and accessible place to begin.

Course objectives

This 60‑minute session is part of our Let’s Talk About… series and provides an accessible introduction to trans and non‑binary inclusion.

Facilitated by a transgender or non-binary person, the session supports participants to better understand what it means to be trans or non‑binary and how exclusion and barriers can be experienced in workplace, housing and service settings.

The focus is on practical, everyday inclusion. Participants explore language, behaviour and organisational practices, and consider how these can impact trans and non‑binary colleagues, customers and service users. The session includes time for questions and discussion and is designed to build confidence, awareness and respectful practice.

This session is suitable for staff at all levels who want to increase their understanding of trans and non‑binary inclusion. It is particularly relevant for those working with colleagues, customers or service users. No prior knowledge is required.
