The i‑act programme is successfully being rolled out across many organisations throughout the UK and around the world, including local councils, corporate businesses, hospitals, housing associations, construction companies, and universities.
There are two versions of the accredited i‑act training – one specifically for managers and one for employees / frontline-workers. The i‑act course looks at how we can improve wellbeing to build resilience and keep well. It gives participants a good understanding of mental health and wellbeing issues, and of issues which may affect someone’s mental health and wellbeing. It teaches participants what to look out for and when they should intervene. The i‑act course also gives practical tools for supporting someone in a safe way and teaches a ‘first-response’ approach to supporting someone in distress.
Each letter of i‑act refers to a different part of the training:
- i Improve wellbeing
- a Advocate and access help and support
- c Connect and communicate
- t Take tools and advice
The course lasts 5 hours (plus breaks), led live by an experienced i-act instructor online. Our trainer has responded to feedback from delegates, to lengthen this course from the 3.5 hours offered elsewhere to give sufficient time to discuss and build understanding, with plenty of breaks to prevent Zoom fatigue. This offers fantastic value and a closer experience to the classroom based course.
