This course supports participants to build confidence in their understanding of sexual orientation, gender identity and LGBTQ+ terminology, helping to reduce uncertainty and encourage respectful, informed engagement.
The session explores the history of LGBTQ+ communities and movements, including key social and legal developments up to the present day. Participants consider the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in housing and wider society, both historically and today, and examine how exclusion and discrimination can occur.
The course also encourages reflection on organisational culture, supporting participants to identify practical steps to strengthen inclusion and ensure environments where LGBTQ+ people feel respected, valued and able to thrive.
Sessions can be tailored to organisational context and delivered as a standalone workshop.
