An interactive session supporting staff to understand cultural difference, reflect on their own perspectives, and develop practical skills for inclusive communication and respectful interactions with colleagues, customers and members of the public

Course objectives

In an increasingly diverse society, understanding culture and inclusion is essential for anyone working with colleagues, customers and members of the public.

Everyday interactions shape trust, engagement and people’s experience of services. This practical and reflective session supports participants to explore how culture influences values, behaviours and communication styles. The course encourages participants to reflect on their own perspectives and assumptions, and to consider how inclusion is experienced in day‑to‑day interactions.

Using real‑life scenarios and discussion, participants examine how cultural difference can affect access to information, support and services. The session focuses on practical approaches to inclusive communication and respectful practice, supporting participants to work more confidently and effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

Sessions can be tailored to organisational context and delivered as a standalone workshop.
